We recently had dinner with Al Micallef the founder of Micallef Cigars where we got to smoke this cigar and our staff said we must have these, so here they are!
The Micallef Migdalia Special Edition is a medium bodied londres measuring 5 x 40. The cigar itself is named after Migdalia Sanchez who is the matriarch of the Gomez-Sanchez family, which is Micallef Cigars’ manufacturing partner.
Migdalia Sanchez, was born in 1947 in Guantanamo, Cuba. At 16, she began her studies at the School of Tobacconists in Havana. At 17, Migdalia graduated as a tobacconist and began to work at the Partagas factory, where she quickly stood out as one of the best cigar rollers. There she also acquired knowledge of the industry in manufacturing and planting tobacco.
Its features a gorgeous Mexican San Andres Habano wrapper that is aged for 4 years and is rounded out with a a four-year old Sumatra binder with fillers composed of four-year old Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos.
